You will be open to many unique experiences that can influence your actions, decisions and plans for the future. In order to learn and grow from these experiences, you need a solid understanding of where and when youre at your bestyour strengths.Every student at CU Boulder has the opportunity to discover and develop their strengths through the CliftonStrengths assessment. Here are a few steps for learning mora about your strengths and how to apply them in your college journey.Meet with a strengths peer coachYour first step after taking CliftonStrengths is meeting with a strengths peer coach to get a deeper understanding of your top five strengths. Youll chat through each strength and learn more about your natural talents.Talk about your stren gthsOnce youve uncovered the meaning behind your strengths, talk about them with your roommate, close friends or family. Ask them for feedback about what strengths they see in you and how they play out in your daily life.Listen to Gallup Theme ThursdayPodcasts are a great way to learn about personal and professional development. Follow the Gallup Theme Thursday Podcast (available on fruchtwein podcast apps) and listen to episodes that talk about each of your strengths.Find your natural roles in and outside of the classroomAre you organized or resourceful? A leader or a supporter? Tap into your strengths to discover which roles feel natural to you in group projects and student organizations. Your strengths can reveal how you resolve conflict, delegate tasks and handle certain situations.Consider your strengths when choosing a major or careerWhat gives you a sense of mission and purpose for your life? Knowing your values, interests and beliefs can help paint a clear picture of your ac ademic journey and the type of career youd like the build. Asking yourself questions about your greatest successes will give you clues to choosing a major thats perfect for youWhat has been your most successful experience in an academic, learning or athletic setting?What has been your greatest success in an interpersonal relationship, leadership role, club, team or organization?What difference do you want to make in the world?What has been your most successful experience in an employment, service or volunteer work setting?Discover ways to develop your strengths on unigelndeGet involved in a student organization or intramural sport.
